Four officers from Danish Defence and four officers from the Chinese Academy of Military Science will present their perception of the role of UN operations in peacekeeping and in global peace and stabilization efforts, as well as their view of the expected role played by Danish and Chinese Defence in the UN in future.

Academy of Military Science (AMS) is the leading military strategic research institution in China and advisor for Central Military Commission, which has president Xi Jinping as its chairman. AMS also gives advice on the role of Chinese Defence in the implementation of Chinese defence, security and foreign policies. It also plays a major role in the publication of the Chinese Defence white paper. The latest version of the white paper was released in May 2015. Among other things it announces that China’s Defence is to play a bigger role in global security affairs.

The conference will take place on Tuesday 23rd of June 2015, from 09.30 to 14.30, at the Royal Danish Defence College, Auditorium 118, Svanemoellens Barracks, Ryvangs Allé 1, DK-2100 Copenhagen. Lunch is included. The conference will be conducted in English.
